Dry River will be hosting a day of celebrations and werkshops this Sunday from Noon to 8pm!
All folks are welcome to participate in an event with International Women's Day in mind!
so far we have several werkshops that will be happening, and this is a call out to people, especially women, to come with more ideas for werkshops, skillshares, or discussions they would like to see and make happen!
we know it's short notices, but.............. get inspired! we'll be making flyers in 24 hours (friday afternoon!) with hopefully a more complete schedule of events.. here's what we have so far:
Noon--- Introductions to Fertility Awareness for birth control and health / How To Chart your Menstrual Cycle / Herbal Abortion discussion
2pm--- Mad Mapping, a mental health excercize, exploration werkshop
4pm--- "Herb Share" please bring herbs for tea or to share in whatever way and/or herbal info to share! We'll talk about Women's Herbs and maybe take a walk to the community garden and see a few of these lovely medicines in action! We'll be making an herbal liniment with Calendula! and more....!
5:30-6:30pm--- Every week there is an existing Clean & Sober group that meets, this will be happening in confidentiality either in the courtyard or the back room!
6pm--- Freeskool Brainstorm/Planning Meeting!!! Bring ideas for future werkshops/skillshares that will happen at Dry River in the immediate future! (might continue with sunday skillshares here at DR) yay!
7:30 Potluck and Discussion/ Wrap up and talk about why women should be/ are celebrated and why we as women want to continute getting together, celebrating and sharing!
OKAY SO...... overlapping time-slots are fine, everything is flexible, if you'd like to offer a werkshop please get in touch ASAP! Flyers will be made tomorrow and distributed at events Friday and Saturday nights!! Also check Dry Rivers website for updated schedule.....www.dryriver.org
Also, Monday evening there is a Ladie's Craft-N-Chat gathering.... for women only, it will be held at the Parasol Project, located right behind Tooley's Cafe in the Lost Barrio. We'll be chatting about all sorts of stuff and werking on sewing cloth menstrual pads, we'll have supplies, but the more the merrier! for info email me!! Time is still TBA..... should be getting started between 5 and 7 though to give you a rough idea... MORE SOON!!!!!
