Date: August 7th, 2008

Tomorrow night (Thursday Aug. 7th) at 7pm Dry River is hosting a pot-luck, craft, barter and film night! So, bring your appetite, some food to eat, some crafty skills to share, things to exchange, and a friend! We'll also be holding a surprise raffle and screening a surprise film. Who knows what other surprises await?!

What's the occasion for this impromptu pot-luck party? You mean, apart from the fact that August 7th is the anniversary of the start of the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794 - an armed insurrection against federally imposed taxation, which was imposed, of course, for the purpose of "social discipline" and to strengthen faltering governmental authority, and which was violently suppressed (ironically but not surprisingly) by the new federal government, marking the first time u.s. military force was used against amerikan citizens, and indirectly starting off the now centuries old tradition of moon-shining in Kentucky and Tennessee? None really. It's just an excuse to have some fun, see our friends, and enjoy our community space together. See you there!

love,
